A bit about me

Hi, I’m Danika Soberano, though most people know me as Anya. I’m an engineer with a background in Electrical Engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology and am currently pursuing a master’s degree in Systems Engineering at Stevens Institute of Technology.

Beyond engineering, I’ve always been drawn to creativity and visual storytelling. Since the age of 13, I’ve worked with colored pencils, painting, and charcoal, earning awards for my artwork and exhibiting original pieces. I also participated in NASA’s 50th Anniversary Intern Photo Challenge, where the photograph I captured helped our team earn 2nd place — an experience that further strengthened my passion for visual storytelling through photography.

Today, photography allows me to blend my technical and artistic perspectives — capturing atmosphere, movement, and meaningful moments through travel, architecture, and everyday life across the world.

Where It Began

Before photography, I spent years working in traditional art, painting and using charcoal, and exhibiting. Those experiences continue to influence the way I approach photography and visual composition today.
